Weekly links, 6th grade - "Olympic Games", "Human Reproduction" and "Modern Spain: the 19th century"

Good afternoon and welcome again to the blog!

Next you can see some of the links we have used in this first week after Christmas, in the different subjects:

English:

In this case, we have continued working with Unit 4: "Olympic Sports" and, although we haven't had enough time to watch it in the class, I had this funny video prepared:

Natural Science:

In Natural Science, we have started Unit 3, about human reproduction and we have began to talk about the reproductive cells.

Apart from the text and pictures in the book, we have also used these two images (remember that you can enlarge the pictures clicking on them):

Types of human cells

Gestation period in mammals

Social Science:

In this matter, we have also started Unit 3, in this case about the Spanish 19th century. We have began talking about two important events that took place in that period, related between them and with a great influence in Spanish history; These are: "The French Revolution" and "Napoleon".

Apart from the contents on the book we have watched several interesting videos to illustrate these facts. First, two videos from the musical film: "Les Miserables" with the crucial moments in which people rise again the power:

Then, you can see one video about the causes that provoked the French Revolution, and two more about Napoleon's life:

Finally, I remind you that next week we are going to start to do some geometric drawings, so that, if you don't have them, you will need to buy a set of "Escuadra" y "Cartabón" (you will find them easily with the names in Spanish :-) and a ruler of about 30 cm long.

Enjoy them again, and have a good weekend!
